Fire-Resistant Coating Solutions

SDG C16 decorative fire-resistant coating is an intumescent water-based fire-resistant coating specifically developed for cold storage applications. It is particularly suitable for providing fire protection to insulating substrates such as sprayed polyurethane foam. When exposed to fire, the coating rapidly foams and expands, forming a dense, heat-insulating char layer that effectively blocks the spread of flames and provides a robust and reliable fire barrier for cold storage facilities.

◣ Scope of Application
Finish-type fire-retardant coatings are suitable for use on combustible materials—such as wooden structural elements, fiberboard, particleboard, and fiberglass-reinforced plastic products—in general industrial and civil buildings, high-rise buildings, hotels, cultural and entertainment venues, and historic structures, as well as on cement walls, to provide fire protection. Once the film has formed, the coating exhibits stable performance and can withstand various climatic conditions, making it suitable for use throughout the country.

◣ Protective Value of Cold Storage

① Stops the Spread of Fire, Safeguarding Basic Safety Standards

Provides robust protection for polyurethane insulation materials; its flame resistance outperforms that of color-coated steel panels, buying valuable time for personnel to evacuate and for fire rescue operations.

② No Dripping or Toxic Fumes During Combustion

Burns without dripping, noticeable black smoke, or toxic gases, minimizing secondary hazards and ensuring the safe evacuation of personnel.

③ Thin Layer, High Efficiency, Minimal Space Occupancy

The coating is only 0.5 mm thick, placing no additional structural load on the building and having no impact on the interior clear height or usable area, thereby maintaining the cold storage facility’s original design efficiency.

④ Easy Application, Reduced Downtime Losses

Cures in less than 6 hours, dries quickly, and requires a short application window, minimizing disruption to the cold storage facility’s normal operations.

⑤ Perfectly Compatible with Insulation Systems

With strong adhesion and resistance to frequent temperature fluctuations, the coating does not crack or peel, ensuring long-lasting and reliable protection.

⑥ Meets Dual Standards for Hassle-Free Acceptance

Complies with the requirements for a 15-minute fire barrier under both the Chinese National Standard GB12441-2018 and the International Building Code (IBC), ensuring hassle-free acceptance of cold storage projects.

◣ Construction Process
1. The temperature should be above 5°C, and rain should be avoided for 24 hours after application.

2. Before application, the substrate (surface to be coated) must be cleaned to remove dust, oil, loose paint, and other debris. Wooden substrates should be naturally dry, with a moisture content of less than 10%.

3. Stir thoroughly before application. Apply using a brush, spray, or roller, ensuring an even coat. Brush in a consistent direction; do not apply in crisscross patterns or repeatedly over the same area. Depending on application needs, add a moderate amount of water to dilute and mix thoroughly; the amount added should not exceed 10%.

4. To meet fire resistance requirements, the standard application rate is 500 g/m², which achieves Class 1 fire resistance standards.

◣ Notes
1. Packaging: 10 kg per bucket, 20 kg per bucket.

2. Storage: Store at temperatures between 5°C and 45°C in a well-ventilated, dry warehouse. Protect from direct sunlight and rain, and keep away from sources of fire. The shelf life is 12 months.

3. Do not add other paints, organic solvents, or powders.

4. Do not apply the product when the temperature is below 5°C or the relative humidity is above 85%.

5. Do not add other paints, organic solvents, or powders.
