[Yantai, China, July 21, 2025] Yantai Shunda Polyurethane Co., Ltd. and DuPont China Group Co., Ltd. formally signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement at the Shunda Wanshun plant site. Centered on “high-performance building products plus integrated engineering services,” the two parties will deliver energy-saving, consumption-reducing, safe, efficient, green, and low-carbon system solutions tailored to diverse applications—including cold chain, energy, marine, and mining sectors—both in China and overseas.

I. A Powerful Partnership with Complementary Strengths

• DuPont, a Fortune Global 500 company with 223 years of innovation, holds globally leading technologies such as FROTH-PAK™ low-pressure two-component polyurethane—a fourth-generation HFO-based, low-GWP, environmentally friendly foaming system—and Tyvek® waterproof, vapor-permeable, and vapor-barrier membranes. The company has also been among the first to commit to “operational carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2050.”
• Yantai Shunda—With 30 years of dedicated expertise in the cold-chain sector, it seamlessly integrates the entire value chain, from “polyester polyol—composite polyether—polyurethane spray/panels—engineering design—project construction,” and maintains a nationwide sales and service network capable of accurately identifying and swiftly responding to customer needs.

II. Core Products Tackle Pain Points Directly

DuPont FROTH-PAK™ products utilize a fourth-generation HFO low‑GWP, environmentally friendly blowing system, delivering an ultra‑low thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/m·K and self‑extinguishing upon removal from the flame. Featuring a patented nozzle, they require no electricity or specialized labor, cure rapidly, and are highly portable—making them ideal for both large‑area insulation spraying and small‑area grouting and filling applications. In new cold‑storage floor‑integrated insulation and vapor‑barrier systems, Tyvek® combines four key attributes—thinness, lightness, toughness, and breathability—to lock in cooling, vent moisture, prevent condensation and ice‑induced expansion, and offer lightweight construction that saves space while requiring no maintenance after a single application. Paired with Shunda’s compressive‑resistant polyurethane spray products, this solution delivers long‑term, comprehensive value to cold‑storage owners by reducing energy consumption, saving floor space, cutting costs, and lowering carbon emissions. Meanwhile, Shunda leverages a robust localized sales network, an integrated project‑delivery system, and a nationwide warehousing and logistics infrastructure to provide end‑to‑end “product + design + sales + installation” services, helping customers upgrade their insulation, thermal‑management, and moisture‑control solutions in a holistic manner.

III. Co-Creating Value, Together Toward Zero Carbon

This signing marks a milestone as Shunda and DuPont move from “shaking hands” to “joining forces.” The two parties will focus on five high‑energy‑consumption scenarios—revitalizing aging cold storage facilities, integrating ground‑level insulation and vapor barriers in new cold storage buildings, providing cryogenic insulation for marine applications and LNG systems, ensuring full‑lifecycle protection of energy networks, and achieving safe, airtight sealing in coal mines—to create replicable, scalable zero‑carbon exemplars. Moving forward, the “Cold Chain Energy‑Saving Joint Laboratory” will be launched concurrently, leveraging fourth‑generation HFO technology to continuously develop next‑generation insulation and vapor‑barrier solutions that are low‑carbon, energy‑efficient, and recyclable. This effort will contribute world‑class case studies to China’s dual‑carbon strategy and illuminate a green future for the global cold chain industry.
